Which values guide my choices?
More info
Values are the big ideas you want to live by—your inner compass. They’re lasting principles (e.g., honesty, curiosity, loyalty, fairness) that help you choose what feels right, even when no one’s watching. Because values sit deeper than moods or trends, they quietly shape everyday choices: how you spend time, how you treat friends, and how you act under pressure. The clearer you are about your top values, the less you get pulled around by other people’s opinions.
Detailed info
Think how your values guide your choices by reflecting on the following:
- This week, one good choice:
Type one thing you did that felt right. Then add: Which value was behind it? (1–2 words)
- Next decision coming up:
Write the decision in one line. Pick one value you want to guide it - 48-hour check:
Save that value as a note/reminder on your phone (or pin it on your screen). Over the next 48 hours, add 1–2 short notes on moments where you used (or could have used) that value.
Tip: If you’re not sure which value to pick, choose from: kindness, courage, fairness, respect, learning, responsibility, creativity, patience, integrity.
