Negative filtering

More info

Negative filtering is when you focus only on the bad and ignore the good, so you miss the bigger picture or context.

Detailed info

It is a habit to notice only the negative. When you catch it, build a new habit: for every negative thought, add a positive fact right away so your brain practises noticing the positive too.

Examples:
“When I walked by the mirror I thought I looked good.”
“That one classmate smiled at me while I was presenting.”
